Christine Zabramny

Christine's European heritage has always been an inspiration for the art she creates today. After completion of the School of Art & Design she pursued her career as a set and costume designer in theatre. Theatre however could not replace her passion for canvas and color, hence her art adventure started.

Initially, fascinated by found objects, Christine began with collages and mixed media to gradually progress to abstract paintings. She paints with vivid acrylic colors on single or multi-panel canvases. Her diptych and triptych works create a sequence of images, that when put together, make a visual celebration to the eye and mind. Her modern, expressionistic pieces usually introduce elements of mystic surrealism and always seek to capture emotions and subjective interpretation. Her shapes, lines and forms are meant to create a separate reality from the visual world. Through powerful color choices and dynamic composition she explores her own emotions and memories. It is an escape to somewhere she wants to be, or a feeling she wants to have. Christine says, "Everyone sees different things in my paintings because we all have unique backgrounds and experience. My messages are both complex and simple at the same time".

Her decorative or commercial art, drunken poetry art and coffee art series, as well as her abstract paintings are displayed in numerous coffee houses. Sharing her works became possible through many exhibitions and by "a word of mouth" sales to private collectors. To date over 300 pieces have been placed in private homes or at commercial sites. Currently, her paintings are being exhibited at the Creative Spirit Artist Cooperative in Patagonia, by Artists at Work Gallery, 55 Main Gallery in Bisbee, Arizona and at the new Gallery 2402, LLC in Tucson, Arizona.

You will find aspects of her work intriguing in form, color, or composition. You might like an abstract painting a lot but not know exactly why. You will see new and different things years from your first viewing, because there is always more to discover.

Christine's work has been described as whimsical, mystical, mythical or enchanting. Everyone arrives at their own interpretation - but to all - each of her pieces always emanates hope, optimism and an infinite charge of positive energy.
